How to build a Eel Aquarium for your bar.

”Moray EELS are hardy, fascinating fishes that can do well, even under a beginner’s care. Unfortunately, many species grow much too large for most aquariums. For the short term, an eel makes an interesting addition, but be prepared to move it or step up to a larger system when it starts to mature. Moray eels generally have poor eyesight but a superior sense of smell, so in a tank they need to be fed directly, otherwise the faster fishes in the tank will out-compete them for food. The best method is to spear a piece of shrimp or squid on a feeding stick and place it near the eel’s lair or wiggle it until the eel emerges to take the item. (Hand-feeding is not recommended.)”

“A tank housing moray eels must be completely sealed-these agile animals will escape through even the smallest opening….more info in his book” “The New Marine Aquarium”.
